When Ryan Robinson moved the Fat City Emporium from its Atwood location to 402 East Washington Ave. earlier this month, he hoped to bring a fresh take on art to Downtown Madison. The gallery features mostly contemporary and eclectic artwork from a variety of local artists. The best part: the artwork is actually affordable! It is the perfect place for art lovers seeking to start their collection.
The styles represented in the gallery include abstract, pop art, and magical realism. Some works may remind visitors of the styles of artists like Basquiat, Banksy, and Andy Warhol. The gallery expands the range of local offerings in this niche, since these more avant-garde styles are not commonly seen in Wisconsin galleries.
Fat City Emporium is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11AM-7PM.
